西湖大象——粤东首座户外雕塑
《双象戏水》是1982年雕塑家陈保国和雕塑家陈茂辉父子塑造的，它是当年粤东地区首座户外雕塑，雕塑作品当时影响了整个大潮汕，凡到西湖公园游玩的都会与双象合个影，著名书法家麦华三专程来揭看雕塑，还当场兴奋写下“双象戏水”的大字，至今已有三十四年了，老榕城人还记忆犹新。
"Double elephant playing in the water" was created by Chen Baoguo, a sculptor, and Chen Maohui, a sculptor. It was the first outdoor sculpture in eastern Guangdong. The sculpture affected the whole city of Chaoshan at that time. Anyone who visited the West Lake Park would take a picture with the double elephant. The famous calligrapher, Mai Huasan, came to expose the sculpture and excitedly wrote down the word "double elephant playing in the water". Up to now, it has 34 Years later, people in laorongcheng still have fresh memories.
《双象戏水》高达六米六，气势雄伟。大白象昂首阔步，高举起它长长的鼻子，仰天喷射，飞珠溅玉，在阳光下，幻化出绚丽的虹彩。小白象则亲昵地用鼻子勾住大象的右脚，天真地嬉戏。造型娇健洒脱，生动传神。这座巨型艺术品，与西湖九曲桥富丽典雅的湖心亭相映生辉。
